Tango for everyone. Queer is about how we dance.

“I cannot recommend these queer tango classes in Edinburgh enough. They’ve got something for queer theorists, and mad folk, bad dancers, all genders and of course tango lovers!” Darcy Leigh

Queer Tango is Argentine Tango danced with open roles. The traditional gender-specific roles are rejected: everyone can lead and everyone can follow; anyone can dance with anyone else. Queer tango is for anyone who wants to play with all that tango can offer. Queer Tango is for everyone, including those who identify as LGBTQIA and allies. Everyone Welcome: All sexual identities; All genders

Argentine Tango is a social, partner dance which is improvised. It is an interactive conversation between the dancers. While it may look good, it is so compelling because of how it feels. Argentine Tango is very different from the performance-focused Ballroom Tango.

Learn how to dance Queer Tango in an inclusive and friendly environment. Learn how to lead (suggest the movements) and follow (interpret the suggestions). Have fun and make new friends. Come and be part of the beginning of an exciting new Queer Tango community in Edinburgh.
